Riparian Grant Program (RGP)

The Riparian Grant Program (RGP) provides conservation districts with funding for projects to restore and protect riparian habitat which is the management zone along the edge of water bodies like rivers and streams.

Riparian habitat restoration and protection projects are crucial for maintaining healthy ecosystems and preserving biodiversity.

Conservation Districts engage land managers with voluntary actions that keep our air, water, soil, habitats, and farmland healthy for all. The management of riparian areas aims to enhance the ecological integrity and resilience of these habitats, strengthen habitat for native species, improve water quality, and promote the sustainable use of Washington’s natural resources.
